introduces

THE ARMENIAN SPIRIT AWARDS

Speaking Truth through Talent

One hundred years after the genocide of 1.5 million Armenians by Ottoman Turkey, the Armenian national spirit is alive and strong. The survivors and their descendants have risen like the phoenix to reach the heights of achievement.

They have put their stamp of originality and self-expression on all forms of creative and scientific endeavors—for the benefit of the Armenian Nation and the world.

To celebrate and perpetuate the vibrant and dynamic force that is the Armenian Spirit, Naregatsi Art Institute (NAI) has established the “ARMENIAN SPIRIT” AWARDS, an international arts competition designed to encourage and cultivate a new generation of Armenian talents.

Their time has come to enrich the Armenian cultural inheritance with fresh and original interpretations of Armenian themes.

About the competition

This year’s competition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Armenian Genocide and is under the theme “ArTar”.

“ArTar” is a word that combines the Armenian word for creation, ARAREL, with the Armenian word for century, TAR—thus ARTAR stands for a “century of creation”.
